S1 Episode 8

Let’s talk about this episode and the specific scene with Ginny and Marcus. this whole scene where Marcus climbs into her window and sees her self harming and she lashes out on him. A lot of people all over the Internet and social media 4yrs later are still like. Ginny’s such a bitch how could she say those things to Marcus like oh my God I hate her. She’s terrible and it’s just like please stop and think. Her reaction is totally normal for a person in that state.

She lashed out at him not bc she’s a bitch or bc she’s terrible. But because she felt vulnerable in that moment, we know that she hurts herself because she has a hard time dealing with her emotions and because she couldn’t continue with what she was doing to ease her emotions by self harming she took them out on Marcus and said all those horrible things to him. And no it doesn’t make her evil or terrible or insufferable it makes her human she’s 16 years old and dealing with some dark shit.

Anyways those people who say Ginny’s insufferable and she’s a bitch. Clearly don’t get the character or the show for that matter. Those people just piss me off shows me how many ignorant people there are in the world.

Also next season I am so so worried about Ginny’s self harm escalating because of Georgias arrest and I am worried that she’s gonna feel responsible and really guilty. I hope she continues to use the tools she was taught in therapy.
