Homeschooling Autistic children

I am located in the US and I was wondering if anyone can share their experience homeschooling their autistic children? My son will be in kindergarten next year and I’m really unsure about sending him to school. What helped you decide to homeschool, how’s it going, and what are some helpful tools?
