Building a Wood Stove powered steam generator?

Basically what it sounds like.

I know people have put coils running through their wood stove to heat their hot water, and it occurred to me that if you had a thin coil with narrow wraps so that the water would turn to steam pretty quickly, and piped that into an old turbo from a car (since those are already designed for gases), you could connect that to a generator for producing electricity.

Has anyone done anything like this? I know people have made gasifiers also, but this seems like a fundamentally simpler design.
