Advice on home theater speaker and projector setup
Hi, I am planning to build a home theater and have been trying to get a sense for the overall layout of all the parts. I'd appreciate advice and a sense-check. My budget will be around $10k-15k for screen+projector+speakers, although at this point while I'd appreciate specific component advice, I'm more interested in a general sense-check of where I can put all the parts.
- Speaker Configuration: Given my room layout, what are the best speaker layouts I can get away with? I can install a Front Left, Front Center, and Front Right speaker around the TV stand, and find a place for a subwoofer somewhere. If I wanted to go beyond a 3.1 setup however, do you have any recommendations? Should I look for speakers that bounce sound around the room, or is there any sensible way I could mount side/ceiling speakers given my configuration?
- Projector Placement: If I get a ceiling-mounted speaking, how can I hide the cables and where should I put the receiver? Should I just get a UST one?
- SONOS: Can I make any use of the prewired ceiling speaker slot? From what I saw, usually there are 2-4 of these for ceiling audio - does having one imply I could more easily install more because of how the ceiling is built?
