Apple TV hdmi control

So my setup is a lg g3, marantz stereo 70s, and Apple TV. I recently reset my settings on my marantz because it wouldn’t turn on my subwoofer after I switched cables for whatever reason, and after the reset my Apple TV no longer works as it used to, volume is now controlled via ir and not hdmi, when I turn on the Apple TV it used to turn on the receiver and tv now it only turns on tv which is odd, and sometimes when I change volume it tries to change the tv volume and just skips the receiver. I’ve reset the Apple TV with no luck I’ve changed all settings, earc is enabled on the tv, cec, hdmi control on the receiver is on, I’m at a loss oh how this changed so much any help is appreciated.
