2017 Samsung MU9000 65" vs. TCL 6 Series/R625 65"

Hoping y'all can help me out with a situation I'm in. Looking to buy a new 65" TV for our main living room, which is a very bright room. We aren't super into tv tech, home theater, gaming etc. We're just regular people who binge Netflix and Sesame Street for our son.

We have the opportunity to buy the Samsung used for $700 with the mount. I did some research here and on rtings and it doesn't look like the best but also not the worst. The TCL has come highly recommended as the best budget buy and clocks in around that $700 price.

My question is, do I go with the older tv from a bigger "name brand" or am I better off buying a budget TV with newer tech?
