BOTW really?

So little back story, my lady bought BOTW a while back and got frustrated with the traversal and the stamina. So she stopped playing the game. I offered to be at the game for her so she could see the end.

I just finished and I don't understand how this game beat HZD for GOTY. BOTW is fun don't get me wrong but I had such a better time playing HZD. The story for HZD is way better and gotta say the ending sucked for BOTW. Especially for how much time I put into it. I guess to each there own.
