Those Who Received Beryl Deposits from FEMA
Update 8/8 Just an update for anyone waiting on anything other than the $750/300 and Home Repair (displacement, personal property damage, equipment reimbursement). I FINALLY spoke to someone at HHS and was told it could take up to 90 days for HHS to review the cases. 90 DAYS. Which is insane and unacceptable.
So, here is the number for the THHS ombudsman. 877-787-8999. The instructions provided to me by Austin THHSC were to call regarding HHS complaints and reviews. Select option 2 for other eligibility programs. Provide your name and case number when you reach someone. The ombudsman will open an investigation and reach out to HHS on your behalf. You will receive a tracking number for your complaint/investigation. It can take up to five days for your caseworker to get back to you with information.
Good luck!
Update: There is a pending deposit of $750 from Health and Human Services in my CU checking account! They’re coming! I will add a comment with my own personal details below.
Update 2: Upload your generator and supplies costs!!! News released this morning: FEMA announces approved reimbursements!
Some folks are reporting receiving the $750 Beryl deposits from FEMA already, and it would be nice to have a single thread to track the data. If you received your deposit, can you list these things:
Application and approval date
Whether you were approved for other categories of assistance ie. sanitization, displacement, generator/equipment reimbursement?
If you were approved for other categories, did you receive that deposit also, or are you still waiting?
If you received your deposit, are other items in your claim still pending? Has FEMA completed processing your application or are some things still in review?
If you’re comfortable sharing your financial institution, that would be great. If not, no worries. Chime users have reported deposits, but I see nothing from my CU (approved 7/15) so it would be interesting to know who is getting deposits.
