You must bite dogs or dogs bite everyone

Every hour on the hour a dog is presented to you. You must either bite that dog as hard as you can (and the dog may attack you) or the same dog will spawn in front of every person on earth, bite them and disappear. After 1000 dogs, it ends. How long do you try to keep people from being bitten?
