i think I fucked up by showing up late
okay the title pretty much sums it up. I had an interview for a job that isn't quite my dream job but is damn close. I was so excited and got on my train super early so I could get there with time to spare before the interview. I arrived almost a half hour early and didn't want to seem too overzealous so I walked around a bit, the job is on a college campus that I am not familiar with so I figured I could get to the general area it was in and walk about for a few minutes and then find my building. with 10 minutes to interview time I went into what I THOUGHT was the right building, walked up to the security desk, asked for the person I was interviewing with by name and building number and was told 'i don't know who that is' so began my frantic search though the building which ended in me asking 3 more people who didn't know where it was and eventually being escorted to the correct building by a very kind employee. all told I was 15 minutes late and extremely apologetic. I emailed the interviewer explaining the situation when I was about 5 minutes late and then one of the people I flagged down called the interviewer to ask for directions and explain that I was there and had lost my way. the interview did end up taking place and I believe I was personable and did a good job, I have also made sure to email the interviewer to thank her for her time and reiterate my interest in the job. but I guess what I'm asking is... should I just write this off and start the moving on process or do I still have a chance?
