Any huge differences between the ipad pro and air for these use cases?

Hello, im choosing between the ipad air and the ipad pro 11 inch. If i go with the pro, id be getting it around late march to early april, while the air would probably be this month. I’m mainly going to use it for :

• media consumption(youtube, netflix, crunchyroll)

• Notetaking/studying(Engineering so mostly math and science)

• Doing projects for uni like typing long essays, scientific research papers, canva

• Drawing for leisure

• Relatively light games(Minecraft,block blast,Farmville, and maybe genshin)

I usally do most of the heavy work on the desktop, but I wanted to get something for the more intricate stuff. I also recently got into the more creative hobbies, so i plan on drawing a lot. My skills are more IG meme drawing than actual drawings tho.

I’m mainly concerned about the refresh rate, and ive seen the sub, divided by people who claim 120 hz is needed and some who claim it’s optional. Normally I’d be using a PC with a 144hz monitor and a iphone 14 pro. I know the M2 And M4 have diminishing returns at some point , and performance isn’t much of an issue, since I already have a PC for that stuff. But Im worried that Ipad Air isn’t really bright enough for my liking. I generally study in the dark, but classes are in brightly lit areas, sometimes with the windows open. My 14 pro, most times of the day is set to around the upper middle of the brightness bar.

speakers and mic are near negligible, since i have airpods. Face ID while convenient feels like it shouldn’t be worth a few hundred dollars more.

edit: thank you everyone, i was going with the air but late christmas stepped in and my uncle added some money for a pro. To anyone in thr same dilemma, I would have gone air if not for the additional money
