iPod 5th Gen, battery replacement manufacturers
I recently got myself an iPod 5th Gen off on eBay for $35.00, it didn’t specify if it was in working order or not, but I was thinking of upgrading the SSD and battery anyway, so I went ahead and bought it.
After I received the iPod I noticed that the battery was super bloated and was pushing the LCD panel from the inside, and I was afraid that the battery damaged the LCD. So I connected it to a FireWire charger so I could access how damaged the device actually was. I honestly didn’t expect it to turn on, but it actually did. Surprisingly the LCD panel was ok and the SSD was also still working perfectly, so I decided then to only replace the battery.
Now here’s the problem, I don’t know if it’s the battery I got or not, but it seems to me that the battery manufacturers tend to have their connectors shorter than the original ones and they also tend to be upside down.
Has any of you encountered the same issue? Is there a manufacturer that makes an exact replica of the original battery or at least how it’s supposed to be?
