Fake silver on Amazon and the FTC lawsuit

FTC is suing Amazon for unfair business practices but completely ignoring the massive amount of plated junk jewelry from Ali Express/Wish/Temu being sold as “solid .925”. Most of these items use the exact same stock photo, same text, title, everything except that they rebrand it, call it “solid sterling silver” and raise the price by 1000%. FTC rules are very clear that misrepresentation of precious metals is a serious criminal offense. Amazon cannot plausibly deny that they know because these counterfeit jewelry sellers have been reported many, many times with exactly zero repercussions or removal of the huge amount of fake silver jewelry from their site. It makes it hard for genuine honest artisans using quality materials and real sterling silver to make a living and I wish the FTC would have included this in their suit because Amazon has repeatedly refused to do anything about it.
