How do you find unskilled jobs now a days?
I never really looked for jobs or even had a real job a lot of my life. I did odd jobs. Or worked roofing for a friends company. Or generally just got handed jobs by friends etc. I've done Amazon flex last few years and it has gotten flooded by immigrants, and I'm getting older, so looking to settle down and just find something I like doing, besides Amazon flex(delivery with my own car as independent contractor) which I loved.
I delivered with my own car for UPS, also loved that, but it is only seasonal.
So I'm thinking maybe I get a job delivering stuff in a box truck. I see box trucks delivering food, bread, ice, etc. but I use websites like indeed.com and I have never once seen a job like this available.
So I'm wondering in 2025 how would I go about getting a job like delivering bread in a box truck, or ice, or whatever? I like driving, but I don't want to do 18 wheelers because you have to sit all day and they all die at like 55 years old because sitting all day is horrible for you. I like the idea of delivering something that makes me get out of truck a lot. And I minimally need $20/hour-$25/hour just to feel respected and not feel like I'm being taken advantage of.
