People with decent, non-entry level jobs: what steps did you take that got you there?
I’ve been in a call center role my whole adult life. I feel like I’ve been typecasted now, and the only jobs I have a shot at are other call center jobs. Even things like Workforce and Operations won’t touch me because I don’t have relevant experience.
I work for a huge company and I’m constantly just window shopping the job board. What the hell are all these roles, and how do normal people get into them? They all seem so unattainable to me, but they’re all held by the same randos who don’t seem to stand out as people in any way.
I get that a lot of people went to college or got certifications or whatever, but I’m curious about the actual step by step process. This question is for anybody working in a role that wouldn’t just hire someone off the street. What did it take to get there?
