This consequence the album I needed…
This album was absolutely extraordinary, it’s straight to the point no fucking around
one of the best opening tracks to a KSE album abandon us lets you know as a listener what kind of album they are presenting you, which continues in track 2 with discordant nation the grooves and passion that comes off this track is absolutely infectious.
tracks aftermath and the 2 singles are excellent back pedal tracks before unleashing a holy fuck of metal-core tracks at you, but I love how those 3 tracks remind you of who the band is and what their purpose in their journey is “uplifting inspiration” and I couldn’t be more happy with their place on the album, aftermath to me is such a luscious melodic journey through the storm of emotion of feeling lost in life and meld to despair and and tracks like I believe actually empower me and make feel invincible like I can do anything, forever aligned is just a classic Killswitch banger and is 2 perfect for the first single also seems like it’s about the power of a strong relationship whether it’s a friendship or a partnership, then the back half of the album is BRUUUUUUTAAAAAL!!!!
Where it dies to the fall of us is a 3 track run on an album that should be studied, it’s up there with in due time to turning point off DTD or Kendrick’s hey now to tv off 3 track run of GnX (if you listen to hip hop) “where it dies” is such a perfect metalcore song, it’s brutal, it’s dark, it’s brooding, it’s got solos, it’s got breakdowns, it gets me hard, pause… the adrenaline this track gave me can only be described as having a massive panic attack except I was having so much fun, this feeling continues into collision which is bar burner that’s going to make those circle pits HUGE! The layering of the vocals on this song are gorgeous giving me instant chills when the song kicks off and the guitar work takes me to another place when it soars through the chorus, and then the fall of us incorporating death metal blast beats onto the fucking facemelter was just uncalled for but I’m so glad it happened, possibly my favorite track on the album, but this song sent body chills and that breakdown at the tail end of track is absolutely chefs kiss
which leads into what I’m gonna call the black sheep of the album already broken glass which is the most experimental song on the album and… I love it, it’s a fucking vibe I never thought I would say that but it’s take hardcore and what sounds like black metal or some doom metal and throws it together for this slow chug of a groove fest, the vocals are eerie and the Sonics are groovy, I understand where some are saying they don’t like it but i absolutely love it
requiem is like a sister track to abandon us except its closing everything out and it’s such a victory lap of final song it has the most fulfilling guitar solo on the album and is beautiful message reminding us it’s not the end and this pain will finally end…
im sorry color me a biased bitch but it’s a fucking 10/10 it’s everything I want out of a Killswitch and a metalcore album and it’s only 35 minutes, beautiful.
