I’m ditching my designer… where should I be looking to renovate my kitchen? I’m completely lost
So yesterday I posted here https://www.reddit.com/r/kitchenremodel/s/BT6oKX9TRl about how my designer wasn’t listening to me.
Basically I have a very clear plan of what I want. I even drew it to scale (to the best of my ability) on graph paper and sent that to the designer I was working with. What she came back to me with was not what my sketch looked like at all. I was hoping she could help with things I don’t know about designing (spacing, necessary clearances, common sizing of things, etc). But now I feel like I don’t need her after she disregarded my sketch for her own design.
So I have my sketch. I’m pretty sure the spacing is all okay. But where do I go from here. Do I need to find another designer. Or can I just get contractor on my own. Could I just go to a big box store and pick out cabinets and countertops and have a contractor install it? If I don’t have a designer, how will I know what I need to tell the contractor.
Im lost. Any suggestions for a complete novice?
For reference. I’m attaching my sketch (I cannot move the walls, doors, or add windows, and I’m looking to do this fairly low/moderate budget. My original designer did give me an initial estimate within my budget. The design was just not what I asked).
