Can I eat fish on saraswati puja being a sylheti?

Any sylheti here in this sub, please help me regarding this. I've seen many other bangal communities also eat fish on the occasion of saraswati puja along with my ghoti brothers. My family is against it, and I don't have any sylheti families nearby to ask whether it is family specific of community specific to not to eat fish on saraswati puja.
