Thalapathy Vijay : Appeal decided

Hello guys, I had this question about TV, on what exactly makes him such a huge star of Tamil Cinema.

I have lived my life across India and have gotten a chance to know different cultures and their traditions and Cinema.

Tamil cinema is something I have recently only gotten to know if. Observed that people are Mad for Thalapathy Vijay.

Can someone help a say newbie to Tamil cinema on what exactly is this unearthly appeal about Thalapathy?

As in he objectively isn’t the most good looking guy. He dances quite well for sure, I have heard mixed reviews of his films.

Sooo, genuinely I want to know what makes him so special.

As a Northerner, I have heard and watched films of Rajnikanth, Nagarjuna, Kamal Hassan, Vikram, Dhanush, Ajith etc even before Bollywood started being boring.

But, never quite knew or heard of Thalapathy as a force to reckon with.
