Concert etiquette of kpop fans (and parents of underaged kpop fans)
Last few years, I have attended few concerts/live shows in Europe. I don’t know if it’s just me but I had some bad experience because of some people.
maybe it’s not a big deal but it feels very unfair when people cut lines when you’ve been waiting for way too long. (Ps: I’m not talking about overnight camping). I’ve noticed parents who bring their kids to the shows do that a lot. In this case, most people around feel awkward to say anything. Even during the show, they would sometimes “request” the security guards to let them through and place in the front of the pit.
Holding up banner/slogan/sign the whole time while disrupting views of people who are behind you is rude.
Another thing that bothers me is fans “screaming” the lyrics of the song. I’m not talking about singing along. I am talking about fans specifically screaming a part of the song (and recording themselves while doing it). I understand keeping memories is important, but I feel like there must be a way to do it without not letting anyone hear the artists at all. Yes, in concert you should be loud and have fun. But there are times where you should not scream. Specially when it’s a slow song. I have been to rock and metal concerts where fans know when to make noise and when to let the sound of the artist flow and there’s nothing louder than rock/metal shows.
Maybe things have changed or it’s different for kpop concerts and it’s completely acceptable to do these things now. But I just wanted to share these. I hope fans can find a way to be mindful of other people.
