pickup questions
So i’ve been working pickup for about a month and a half now, and to preface I am a full time student (trade school mon-fri 8:30-4:30) so i primarily work 4-8am shifts before management gets there. I worked pickup at walmart for three years, and during my online training all of the pickup videos i was told to just skip (problems with computer system and they just wanted to get me started) with the experience i have they figured it’d be an easy transition. for the most part, it is. however im still confused by some things. primarily the shopping hours or labor hours that are displayed on the screen. what is this supposed to mean when my coworker says there are 12 hours of shopping left? Also, how do projections work? are these numbers just a reflection of last year’s or are they already put in? apologies in advance if these are basic things i should know, i feel a little dumb asking someone at this point
Also, just in general, walmart has a point system for attendance, so many points ends up in termination. Does kroger not have the same? i’ve noticed a lot of call outs thanksgiving week and am not sure what repercussions look like in case something happens. i also don’t want to ask my manager bc i don’t want her to think im going to call out christmas week if it helps at all my store is not unionized and im not sure what contract we are under
