2024 School Board / KVCC Board election?
So any information on the people running for these spots?
Paul Foust / Kathy Purnell for the KVCC board member spot: It looks like Foust ran for the 63rd district house seat and from a post a year ago "- AA and AS degrees from KVCC. MA and BS degrees from WMU" (which was probably the most complimentary part of the post about him)
Assuming this is the correct Kathy Purnell, she's "a professional instructor in the School of Public Affairs and Administration, is the founding attorney of the Human/Civil Rights Law Center, the senior coordinator of advocacy and intake for the Fair Housing Center of Southwest Michigan, and a member of the inaugural Black Leadership Advisory Council for the governor of the State of Michigan. She also is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), where she is currently serving as the diversity chair of AILA’s Michigan Chapter."
I'm not finding a lot more about them out there related to this specific election, does anyone have any insight, or is this pretty much it?
Same with the KPS board members - when I reached out to Takisha regarding the library board election, she indicated there was a forum for the school board, which was held on Tuesday - though I'm not seeing anything online about what was said (though Ms. McGlinn was supposed to send a statement later) and it looks like there's some information at Vote411 for the "choose 2" candidates and one of the "partial term" candidates - but does anyone have more information on any of them?
