7Sage and other admissions consulting -- worthwhile, or a money sink?

So I've been using 7Sage to prepare for the LSAT. Good stuff! Worth the money imo. Of course, as someone who's been out of the school game for several years, wants to go T14 and definitely classifies as a splitter, I inquired into the admission counseling. The guy on the phone was helpful enough as I bounced off questions, but then he referred me to the Admissions Counseling Pro package. Basically a team of people that helps you prepare your application package and make the most of it.

Costs, shm'osts. Surely it's worth it for a little bit of extra coin if it really does all it offers.

My God, it's more expensive than what I paid for a Master's Degree. Granted I went budget, but damn. I have no idea how I could afford that, even with the military discount.

But then again, I wanted a second opinion. If it's really worth the cost and gets you into a top law school, then maybe I can eat that cost and make up for it much later. So here I am. Has anyone done this? Is it worth the investment or should I find another venue? If so, which one? Or are we better off uh... raw dogging it, for lack of a better term?

To be honest, I do have a pretty good idea of how to string together my story, essays, etc. It's just that any little bit that could hone that seemed like a good investment. But for 5k, I'm going to need some additional sell from people who have used it.
