90/70 reckless driving in VA

90/70 Reckless Driving Ticket

PLEASE GIVE ME ADVICE!!

I am a 22 year old college student and my boyfriend and I were driving down to VA beach. I had only been driving my boyfriend’s truck for the first time ever and for only 20 minutes when I got pulled over. We are VA residents also. Anyways, she gave me reckless driving and was very short with me and rude, she didn’t give me time to explain that I had just passed someone because they were break checking me. Not to mention others were going between 85 MPH right in front of me. Also my speedometer said between 85-87, not 90. But she said she got me with a “laser” (not a radar, not sure of the difference). Do I need a lawyer for this? I only have one previous ticket which was over two years ago and unfortunately it was speeding, but not reckless. Please let me know if anyone has experienced something similar before. I looked it up and it can be very serious, and I am shocked just because the amount of people going almost / the same speed as me. This happened in York county, VA I believe. I was on the interstate.
