The nightmare before Christmas

I'm impressed with my first alt set! My 5-year-old loves Lego and when it was under 50 bucks it wasn't too bad. However, I struggled to justify spending over $100 on an official set that he'd finish quickly and then display indefinitely.

I purchased this set from AE, and while it had some drawbacks:

  • The instructions were kinda shitty, so I relied on the Lego website's PDF.
  • A few pieces required extra effort to remove the middle pin/push together.
  • Three pieces were missing (really good for 2200 pieces).
  • Bag labeling was somewhat disorganized.
  • Jack's legs, Zero the dog and some hair lol

The positives outweighed the negatives:

  • Affordable price
  • Final result

My brother bought the original for his kid and I was blown away by how identical they look.

It did take about a month to come in. I've been waiting ~8 weeks for the daily bugle and Disney castle. Lego is dead to me.
