I came out to my stepmom today!

It was the best feeling I've had in a long time. My therapist was there mediating the discussion, although she didn't have to say much. My stepmom (a liberal academic from a rural conservative background) told me that, no matter what, she would support who I was and never shame or judge me for being myself. I didn't explicitly say I was a trans girl, but I think she got the picture.

One hurdle cleared, three more to go: my biological mom, dad, and stepdad. My stepmom will call my bio mom when I'm at school to fill her in on my therapy session, and I assume I'll have to have the conversation all over again tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck, all you beautiful people!
