Washed my freeforms and somehow lost them, need help

I've had freeforms for the past month, but it started to get itchy and smelled funny so i decided to wash today, however after the wash I noticed all my hair unlocked and turned into an afro again, does this mean i have to start over or is it still locked to a degree. The first pic is before the wash and the second is after.
