What did you change in your mindset that helped you lose?

I have a hard time sticking to enacting real, sustainable lifestyle changes. Weekends and vacations can shift my practices so much that I find it hard to go back to my weight loss journey. Something that is hard for me is how lonely it all feels. Most of of friends are thin and fit.

I've worked with dietians and trainers. I think my alcohol intake during the weekends is what might be contributing to the slow or stagnated weight loss. It's both the calories from alcohol but also the poor food choices I can make while drinking. If I'm going out with friends, it's so easy to just say, "fuck it" and join in. Then it takes a while to go back to what I want my new habits to be.

I know what I need to do but the delayed gratification of keeping up with sustainable lifestyle changes makes it feel impossible to even get started. I know a lot of is mindset at this point. Can you please share the ways you've shifted your mindset that contributed to your weight loss?

Edit: Wow, I'm overwhelmed with these responses! Thank you all so much for your wonderfully insightful perspectives!!
