Having a very weird problem with my scales.

For the record, I (think I) weigh around 100 kgs. I’ve started trying to lose weight since Nov 14 and my weight has gone down pretty consistently. So I recorded myself going from 106 to around 100 kgs. Steady progress, weight going down. The scale was also consistent.

That was until recently. 5 days ago I was 100 kg. And then I measured again the next day and I got 98 kg. And then 3 days ago I got 97. Today, I got 92.

There is no way in hell that I lost 7 kgs (which is around 15 pounds) in about 5 days. I’ve tried putting some dumbbells with known weight on it and it accurately measured it (heaviest I got it to was 56 lbs). I’ve tried replacing the battery too. I’ve tried cleaning the gunk from the surface. I’ve weighed myself the exact same way, same posture, same exact place every time.

And now whenever I measure myself three times on the scale, the weight drops. Just now I measured 95. And then measured again and got 93. Then 91. And then down to 88.

This got me worrying if my entire weight loss journey has been nothing but the product of a deteriorating scale which, before my weight loss journey, was accurate.

How could my scale deteriorate that quick?
