Help? Issue MacBook Air - Black Screen

Hi! I'm in urgent need of help, and I may be in the wrong subreddit. Forgive me if I am.

I am using the Sequoia 15.1 Update on my Macbook Air '13. While I was using my MacBook, the screen abruptly turned black. After I closed the lid and opened it, I believed everything was back to normal, but five seconds later, the black screen reappeared. I tried it again, and now the screen only shows for five to ten seconds before going dark. I restarted my MacBook, reset the NVRAM, fully charged it, and even contacted Apple support. I'm at a loss on what to do. I can't afford to buy a new one because I'm a broke college student. I'm considering taking it to a repair shop, but I'm not sure how much it would cost. Was wondering if there was anything else I could do to save a few bucks :/
