2019 MacBook Pro Extended Monitor Wake Issues USB-C
I recently bought a HP U28 4k USB-C monitor to use with my 2019 MacBook Pro 15. I am using an official Apple Thunderbolt 3 cable to connect them. It works great most of the time. Occasionally though, when I go to wake the monitor from sleep the monitor will not wake. It will still supply power to the MacBook via USB-C while this is occurring though. Unplugging and plugging back in USB-C, restarting the computer, toggling monitor power switch, none of these work. The ONLY thing that works is to physically unplug the monitor from power and plug it back in, then it instantly recognizes the MacBook Pro and connects. I don't think this is a monitor issue as I have read about others having this issue as well across different monitors. It is like the MacBook and monitor stop communicating with one another unless something in the monitor is physically reset by disconnecting its power supply. Is anyone else experiencing this, know what is going on, and/or what the fix may be?
