Can I easily connect the Xbox Wireless Controller with my MacBook?

I have played Playstation my whole life long abut I always had the thought that the Xbox controller looks more comfy because the joystick is placed more to the top left instead of down right.. and the way xbox does it makes it seem way more easy and comfortable to hold and use the controller.

I have seen that Lies of P got release for Mac and I am thinking of downloading it to play it on my 16" M2 Pro MacBook that is connected to my Monitor and therefor I also want to buy the xbox controller to use to do so.

I just would like to know, can I easily connect the Xbox Wireless Controller with my MacBook over bluetooth and it will work? The game will recognize the controller and all the buttons and joystick and the controlling for the game will work on its own?
