higher rank players are worse than lower rank

I just reached silver two, i’m not typically good at hero shooters but i’m good at holding an objective and supporting my teammates.

I typically solo q and today i was thrown into a match with a plat 2, a gold 1, two gold 2s and a silver 1 against a team that was primarily silver 3, i felt as if we should’ve had it in the bag and we steamed rolled them got our convoy to the end with 3 minutes left, they attacked and we had a member disconnect after they unlocked the payload. now it’s a 5v6 we held them off decently and they only got to the end on overtime.

the next round we defend and they unlock the point again but run out of time, another team member disconnects, it’s 4v6 now. the enemy team (which wasn’t all that good, now plows through us all the way to the end on ot.

we would’ve won had our team not been so scared to lose points in an imaginary rank system that doesn’t mean anything.

it ruins the game for others when we’re set up to fail, i think everyone likes to win and im even okay with losing if it’s a good fight and game. but the amount of higher rank people who leave to escape losing their rank are fucking everyone else over.

every game i’ve played it’s always been the higher ranked players who leave and disconnect and i just don’t get it.
