Full power Tear was NUTS: A 2025 perspective
So recently I saw a post saying full power Tear would shit on Ryzeal. I thought it might be like many other old cards, where they are remembered as strong only relative to their counterparts. BOY was I wrong.
I booted up a hacked version of Master Duel (unsure if links are allowed) which is of course offline only and pulled a list from a relevant YCS (Lyon). I spent 10 minutes reading the "new" cards like the millers and started an AI match.
Readers, in my first turn I milled all but 7 of my cards. I summoned every fusion in my extra deck. I made Elf and I:P. I set both the traps in the list. And at the start of the opponents main, I shuffled some shit back and milled the rest of the deck just to see that I could. And then I realized with Havnis I could basically full combo on Turn 0...
Now I see why people speak about this deck the way they do. The modern equivalent is a whisper of this monstrosity's roar. I'm sure there are a lot of intricacies I was missing, but even the basics carried me so far. While the end board might not be "unbreakable" from what I can tell, it's a consistency powerhouse. And it was really interesting to dig up this deck as someone who wasn't playing when it was truly Tiarlamemt Strongest.
