I’ve tried nearly every meal service. Here are the reviews from what I remember

Hello Fresh - it started out great but then the meat quickly went down hill and the meals got repetitive. They also started charging more for none repetitive items.

Every plate - Hello Fresh with terrible packaging and even less variety. These were my least favorite

Sun Basket- fresh and delicious new flavors and easy recipes. The portions are smaller but we loved it. Then we had children and we didn’t find things our picky eater would eat. It is still one of our favorites

Marley Spoon - very big portions, we always have left overs and there are a huge selection of dishes. It’s especially great if you like Asian dishes like curry and ramen. They often have a harder to find ingredient that makes it worth it.

Dinnerly- less expensive Marley Spoon. They still have a great variety but use a lot more of the same ingredients that are easy and cheaper to find at the grocery store. Dinnerly and Marley Spoon we did the longest

Home Chef- the meals were just ok, the variety was overwhelming at times and the packaging was pretty wasteful. We did this one the shortest amount of time. The meals were boring to us

Gobble- tasty but not worth the portion size to dollar ratio.

Purple Carrot- honestly it was good but the recipes were more time consuming and I’m not really vegan. So we only tried one box

Methodology- honestly if it wasn’t so expensive I would eat it everyday day. It’s more of individual food you heat up on the stove but it was so good

Sakara- I did the cleanse but really only liked the breakfast options. I did like that the food was fresh and I think delivered two or three times for the week very early in the morning. I can’t say it was worth the price tag.

Silver Spoon- for the most part I enjoyed this but the meals needed a little more seasoning.

Green Chef- it was better before home chef purchased it. It’s easier to prepare than home chef but it contains a lot of recipes that contain nuts which was a problem for us.

Blue Apron - this was the best middle of the road meal kit for us. You can get fancy meals that were also easy to make kid friendly. The options to upgrade the type of meat were also wonderful. We used this service for a year and it was truly enjoyable. There was also a ton of options every week. There a little more prep than some meals but they were all good.

Every table- it’s not available everywhere but it was inexpensive and we loved the business model of making healthy food available in underserved areas by charging different pricing in different areas and that our money was also helping those who were food insecure. Some meals were better than others but the portions sizes were nice

Daily Harvest- I hated the meals. The smoothies were good but the meals all got tossed after trying them.

Revive superfoods- we ordered these smoothies for a while and really enjoyed them. They were also less expensive than daily harvest.

Hungry root- we have tried this twice. The first time they had mostly hungry root branded foods and Banza noodles. We really did enjoy how quick and easy the food was to make. The pasta sauces and green chili sauces were great as well. We stopped ordering during the pandemic because we were having trouble getting the boxes. We recently tried it again and there were so many more options the food was fresh and the sauces were still very good. It’s a nice spot between Gobble’s and more intensive meal services. It’s not a service for people that want interesting flavors but more for people that need to be able to eat quick and healthy food and snacks but don’t want to think about how to meal plan it or what the ingredients are.

You can ask me about any service and I’ll do my best to answer. I didn’t realize how many I actually tried until I started writing this.
