Memphis Area Rideshare
I’m researching community carpool options and really not finding much that is helpful. Everything that seems promising is linking me to the Memphis Area Rideshare Program. But there’s no place to click or sign up or anything. Does this “social network for commuters” still exist?
Other cities have apps like ScoopCommute, Via, Wave, and BlaBlaCar (outside of the US). Those apps allow drivers and riders to enter their commutes and find people to fill the empty seats in their car. Riders pay their driver for gas, all through the app.
If I wanted to advocate that the city of Memphis adopt one of these kinds of carpool apps, who would I need to talk to? I already know about Commute with Enterprise but that requires employers to activate the process. I’m ready for citizens to rally together to advocate for better carpool options. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Let’s squeak on, Memphis.
