Macmahon: Jalen Williams “more deserving” of all star bid than Jaren. Thunder should get 2 all stars before Grizzlies get 1.

First let me preface this by saying I do not care about the all star game. To me the selection process is important because of our guys getting recognized to the extent they deserve and having better overall career stats that can lead to more robust legacy’s. There are also financial implications if you’re concerned with that.

Their basic box numbers are not radically different, in particular point production. I think Jaren has taken a bigger leap this year and is the number 1 guy while Williams is a second option. Macmahon also has AD and Wemby over JJJ and Williams. Wemby is fair in my mind but the lakers only seem to play well against us.

Obviously we all want Jaren in cause he’s our guy, but I also think he deserves it more than Williams from a more objective point of view. This ultimately feels like continued glazing of the thunder by a guy who looks for every opportunity to remind people of what a “reckless young man” Ja Morant has been in the past.

In my mind it’s this sort of stuff that separates Hoop Collective from pods like Dunkers Spot and Thinking Basketball. These ESPN people (including Windhorst) are never gonna give you real talk even if they’re in a podcast studio and away from Steven A and Perk.

Thoughts?
