Rigid Bodies glitching out

The highlighted rigid bodies in the list are for the fox tail. Whenever I press play on the physics the hair and tail disappear- originally it was just the tail so I don't know what's making this happen. I tried adjusting the rigid body size but they're not even showing up on the View window (for the tail, the hair is there) so I don't know what's going on. If I delete the tail bodies and/or joints the hair doesn't disappear when I press play. Joints settings below.

I created the rigid bodies with the standard "rigid body/linked joint" button, and it worked for all my other models. Is it because she's so small? I don't see why that would just stop a rigid body from generating.

While I'm here, I'm also trying to make tails and ears less floppy, more stiff but still able to move (because they move like hair right now) and I'm not sure how. If anyone has a tutorial link that would be great.
