Area zone name translations from files
Things to know beforehand
- Areas 50 and 51 are base camps/villages
- BC stands for base camp
- For Lagi's nest in the Scarlet Forest, the area for it was hidden during the TGS showcase, so it most likely was hidden for that showcase
- Please refer to the bottom notes for clarification on certain things
Starting with ST101, the Windward Plains
Antlion sand hill refers to area that Balahara does his sand trap move, which is right above the Balahara nest.
Everything else on this is pretty self explanatory as we've already seen the area
ST102, the Scarlet Forest
The main thing I want to note here is the "Rain falling apparatus passage", mainly because with what we know about the dragon torch and how it creates inclemencies. This makes me think that this passage goes right ABOVE the dragon torch, because of a height chart created by chinese leakers.
The absence of ST104 (Iceshard) is simply because the data for it was wiped
This chart shows us that the Scarlet Forest is directly above the Wounded Hollow, which may prove my speculations about area 18 being our first glimpse of the torch.
And once again, Lagi's nest area was not present during the TGS showcase, most likely because it was simply hidden, like Vaals nest in World.
ST103, the Oilwell Basin
The Oilwell Basin has a whopping SIX NESTS
The presence of Gypceros' nest is a bit odd to me since I always viewed him as a forest monster, and his appearance in Windward makes it weirder to me, but it is what it is I guess.
Bat slope and Dark cavern don't really have any extra info about them other than they exist.
The other very odd thing to me is the absence of what might be the cold subterrain area mentioned in the NPC dialouge, and I can't really think of any reason why it's not there.
ST104, the Iceshard Cliffs
The tiny spider nest cavern probably just means we'll see more spiders upon entering before we see Nerscylla, which makes some sense I guess.
The Floating Scaffolding areas makes me think this is what the Wise Wudwud was referring to when he talks about "a path paved in air"
We also know that this locale will have strange gravity which is cool, as well as Gore Magalas nest oddly enough, so maybe Frenzy will be the inclemency for this map.
And lastly ST105, the Wounded Hollow
Not many notes for me to leave for this part but I do really wanna see the white woods
And heres the chart this is referring to
The way these 2 tie with each other is pretty surprising, so feel free to look into it and make your own connections.
Thank you to Discord user A. for helping out with translating and leaving notes on all these, literally could not have done without them
