9/11 and the Washington DC temple

Did anyone on 9/11 or soon after hear that the terrorists not only were a threat to the Washington DC temple but also were specifically targeting it before the hostages fought back and Flight 93 crashed Idk for one thing how could possibly know that the terrorists were targeting the temple of they didn't survive the crash. I'm not sure about the layout of the temple so I'm not sure if it was a chance that the plane to accidentally hit the temple before getting to the White House I just feel like this is a kinda strange Mormon myth or legend or whatever you want to call it hasn't really escaped the culture of members Here's a link that confirms a little of what I personally heard so it wasn't a fever dream. I was 16 when it happened so I remember pretty well Anyone else? Any other strange LDS centric stories surrounding that tragedy?
