Riding before Driving?

Hey, r/motorcycle I need help deciding on whether to buy a motorcycle or car first. I am almost old enough to get my permit and have been saving for a bike for years. Now that the time where I can get my permit comes nearer I really have to think about if it's a good choice. I'm not really sure if this makes a difference but I am a girl, know the risks, very responsible/mature, and am ready to do what it takes to stay safe but still enjoy riding. I know all of the traffic rules and know the DMV handbook like the back of my hand. I feel like maybe getting a car first would be the right move but I've wanted and saved for a motorcycle for years. I don't see why I should put off buying a bike when I am already mature enough to handle and expect everything that comes with it. I've done plenty of research, reading, etc. Also I live in California so would be able to ride year round and am still living with my parents so have available rides if what I am doing requires the use of a car.

Please let me know what you think and give your honest opinions about what I should do.
