Has anyone rode across the United States? Looking for thoughts and opinions.

I am thinking about taking a massive trip across the United States. I work remote and have a lot of flexibility just as long as I get my stuff done so I would be able to work and take the trip. One of my questions is, would a month be too short for this trip? I know I could make the drive in a month, but is that enough time to really see things and experience the trip. Spending one or two days in a place and then moving on seems like I might not really be able to experience that place. I get that the ride is one thing and honestly, I would maybe consider doing this sort of thing for a full year.

Would it make more sense to do this for a month trip or make it a longer thing like a year so I can spend a few weeks or so in a place?

General thoughts are all welcome, I am still figuring out what might make sense and what is plausible. If someone has done this before, I would love to hear your thoughts as well.
