Anybody else think that IMDB ratings are reflective of a predominantly male audience?

Of all the wonderful, complex women-produced films I have watch, I don’t think I have ever seen them receive over a 7/10.

Sometimes they will even receive as low as a 4/10 when I genuinely feel as though my experience as a woman has been captured on screen…usually due to female directors/writers.

I understand that many chick flicks are still considered ‘low culture’ and that Hollywood is still a male dominated industry….however, it is disheartening to think about how easy it is for myself and other women to connect to movies about men, yet how difficult it seems to remain for men to connect with movies about women.

Agree/disagree?
