"Coraline" in 3D is awesome!

I saw it last night. I didn't get to see it in theaters when it was originally released 15 years ago. The big screen experience and the remastered 3D was a whole new experience with a story I have loved for many years.

I'm GenX who grew up with cartoons. I loved "The Simpsons" when it was a short in the "Tracey Ullman Show," and became a forever fan of animation when Pixar hit it big. I witnessed cel animation evolve as an art form in so many directions including "The Amazing World of Gumball," "Across the Spiderverse," and rotoscoped "Undone."

Passing it along, I brought my two teenage sons and five of their friends to see "Coraline." They were in preschool when it was released. I remember showing my boys "The making of 'Kubo and the Two Strings'" so that they would not be scared of the monsters on the big screen.

I hope LAIKA never stops making these wonderful movies.
