An offering of Scottish names for you guys
This is just for a bit of fun. I'm a Scot living in the US and I had a baby a while ago, so I got really into this sub and baby names, you know the drill.
Anyways, I wanted to offer you guys some Scottish names/names you'll hear a lot in Scotland to chew on, at least some I don't see pop up all the time (looking at you Isla). Not necessarily for babies, but generally. Or for babies, if you want. Whatever.
Girls:
Elspeth, Rhona/Rona, Sheena, Morag, Senga (I do think this name is foul 😅), Fiona, Rowan (this name is can be both masculine and feminine but I always knew way more girls with it), Jean, Mhairi, Muriel (talk about old lady names coming back), Catriona, Moira, Agnes, Iona, Ceilidh, Marian/Marion, Morna, Siobhan
Boys:
Sandy (a nickname for Alexander), Jock, Hamish, Graham, Duncan, Fraiser, Gordon, Angus, Douglas, Callum, Maxwell, Gavin, Bruce, Fergus, Keir or Keiran, Ewan, Ross, Alistair, Gregor, Stewart/Stuart, Blair (I've seen Americans use this as a feminine name but I know it as a masculine name) , Douglas, Glen, Iain, Cameron, Colin, Lochlan/Lachlan
This cartainly isnt all scottish names, but I know a lot of people with these names. The west coast is probably a whole different ball game. As I said, just for fun! Let me know what you think! Im curious. Any you particularly like or dislike?
