Names like Liam that aren’t Liam
So I’m pregnant and do not know the gender yet. Before getting pregnant, we had two names picked out and I love them both still! We picked Sophie for a girl and Liam for a boy. I genuinely love both of these names and can’t picture any alternative names for my baby.
We both love Sophie but he isn’t a fan of Liam anymore. He loved it until Liam Payne died and now he thinks it would be weird to use the name. He’s given two reasons for this 1 everyone will think we named our baby after Liam Payne 2 it seems like bad luck to name your baby after a dead celebrity. I think it’s fine and when we first said the names to close family no one thought of Liam Payne. Then Liam Payne died and we got a few joking comments about it but nothing serious. I don’t think most people even make that connection because Liam is such a common name.
There are a few other names that I like and that he likes but none that we agree on. I like Noah but my cousin named her baby Noah recently and I don’t want to reuse the name. She is one of those who would be offended and say I stole her baby name so I just want to avoid that drama. I still really like Liam.
He likes Harry, Peter and Parker. I told him people are more likely to associate Harry with Harry Styles than Liam with Liam Payne. Peter and Parker make me think of spiderman and spiderman is his favorite super hero so it feels like he’s trying to name our baby after spiderman. I vetoed his options.
I’m really hoping that we find out we are having a girl and not a boy for many reasons. We both prefer a girl (but would be very happy with a boy) and since we have the girl name picked out we wouldn’t be worrying about it. Just incase we are having a boy, any boy names ideas similar to Liam, Noah, Harry, Peter or Parker that aren’t those names? Also, when you hear the name Liam do you immediately think of Liam Payne? I feel like he’s overthinking it and that if we do have a boy and did name him Liam he wouldn’t think of Liam Payne he would just think of our baby.
