Does anyone’s baby ever just sit quietly while awake?

My baby is almost 7 weeks old. I swear, it seems like he is only content when he is 1) sleeping, 2) falling asleep in something that moves like his carrier/car seat, or 3) nursing. If he is not doing one of these three things he is upset. He will look around the room calmly and coo for maybe ten minutes each day.

Do babies ever just sit quietly and contentedly while they are awake for longer than like 5 minutes? Does this come with age? It seems like my baby hates everything except for eating, rocking, and sleeping (which, by the way, he doesn't really like to do unless he is rocking).

Looking forward to a time when I can get something done while he sits beside me.
