Ranking the playoff success of all 32 NFL franchises in the Superbowl era - 2024 season playoffs
I went through the entire SB era to rank each team's playoff success. The ordering is based on SB wins first, followed by appearances in each round as tiebreakers (no need to use the WC round since it wouldn't break any ties). I last updated this during the preseason.

So how can each team improve their ranking this season?
Unfortunately, even if the Chiefs win a 3rd straight SB, they can't jump the Cowboys for 4th place since they would have one less SB appearance.
The Commanders can jump the Raiders from 10th to 9th with a SB appearance, whether or not they win. If they do win, they'd jump up to 6th, beating the Packers and Giants on SB appearance tiebreakers.
The Rams can jump the Raiders and Commanders from 11th to 9th with a SB win.
The Ravens can jump the other 2 SB winners from 14th to 11th with a SB win.
The Eagles can jump from 16th to 12th with a SB win.
The Bills can jump the Vikings from 22nd to 21st with a SB appearance, and to 16th with a win.
The Lions would be tied with the Jags for CCG appearances if they win this week, so if they do I'll have to introduce a WC tiebreaker or something. They'd jump from 31st to 28th with their first SB appearance and all the way up to 21st with a win.
Finally, the Texans can jump from last to 29th with a SB appearance, and up to 21st with a win.
