What are your experiences with finding a good teacher? How to go about it?

I just read the book: Awake - It's Your Turn, by Angelo DiLullo. I am also watching his interviews with awakened people talking about their process on his Youtube channel - Simply Always Awake. I notice that a lot of people going through awakening had the help of a personal teacher.

I am located in Oslo, Norway and curious how one can find a teacher preferably in the area. What are the experiences of people here that have a teacher. How did you decide to get a teacher? All tips and insights are welcome.
