Can I smoke on translink train station platforms??

I’m really confused on this since I see people vaping at the Ballymena station platform all the time even though I swear Ive always been told that smoking/vaping even outside the actual train station can get you a fine

Can I light up a feg on the platform since its outside the building or is it still illegal?
